VISITS OF EPHESUS OPEN-AIR MUSEUM, HOUSE OF VIRGIN MARY, ISABEY MOSQUE, TEMPLE OF ARTEMIS
The tour starts by picking-up from the hotel and guests are transported to the tour starting point.
Ephesus contains the largest collection of Roman ruins in the eastern Mediterranean. Only an estimated 15% has been excavated. The ruins that are visible give some idea of the city's original splendor, and the names associated with the ruins are evocative of its former life.
EPHESUS OPEN-AIR MUSEUM | Embark on this tour to discover some mysteries and secrets of the past and first visit the ruins of the ancient city of Ephesus, the only Greco-Roman site in the world that gives an idea of the grandeur of bygone centuries. Once it was a large city with population over 250.000 people.
The city played major role in the development of architecture, religions, economic systems and arts. St. Paul lived here, and walked through the marble streets.
Ephesus is considered one of the greatest outdoor museums of Turkey, in fact perhaps of the world. The links of Ephesus with the Amazons and the myths had survived throughout centuries. So, there was a competition for statue of an Amazon for the Temple of Artemis to be made by the famous sculptors in the 5th century B.C...Tour the ancient city with its legendary marble streets, the magnificent theater, Hadrian’s temple and the library of Celsius.
Lunch will be provided at one of the local restaurants during the tour.

HOUSE OF VIRGIN MARY, ISABEY MOSQUE, TEMPLE OF ARTEMIS | After lunch proceed to the House of Virgin Mary, now a Chapel. It is beleived to be the place where Mary may have spent her last days. Indeed, she may have come in the area together with Saint John, who spent several years in the area to spread Christianity. Mary preferred this remote place rather than living in crowded place.
Later, stop to see Isa bey Mosque one of the most delicate examples of Seljuk architecture. The mosque was built by the master Syrian architecture Ali son of Mushimish al -Damishki, between the years of 1374 and 1375.
The next stop will be at the at the ruins of the once magnificent Temple of Arthemis (Diana), which was considered to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
We will finish our exiting day watching Leather Fashion show, which is always full of fun.
